Adv A winter ascent of Mgoun is one of the most rewarding experience for a mountaineer heading to North Africa for an adventure! Although less well-known than its 4,000m cousins to the west, this peak with its massive ridge provides a great challenge that you won’t forget.

Accessing the area is an experience in itself with a startling transition from the hustle and bustle of urban Marrakech to the remote, rural backcountry, still and contemplative. As such, mountaineering on Mgoun is very much the opposite of the well-trod Toubkal area, and is thoroughly rewarding for the effort required to get there!
