We are proud to count Des Clark as part of our staff and instructor team. Des is the founder of Nomadic Morocco and Toubkal Mountain Guides*, as well as co-founder of The Mountain People. However, he is probably best known as the author of the Cicerone guidebook, Mountaineering in the Moroccan High Atlas.

Mountaineering in the Moroccan High Atlas is the first English-language guidebook of its kind to focus on walking, climbing, scrambling right across the Moroccan High Atlas of North Africa. With its particular emphasis on winter mountaineering, it is the ideal companion to a guided or custom trip, as our favourite part of the year is the winter season.

If you would like a copy, you can order one direct from the Nomadic Morocco website here. It is also available in the handy eBook and Kindle versions from the Cicerone website here.

‘A nice combination of travel guide and climbing guidebook… I can’t think of anything in popular travel guides such as Lonely Planet and Rough Guide that isn’t covered in this book.’

The View from Fez | Riad Zany | 29 March 2011

‘The book is small enough to put in your pocket and the plastic-coated cover means it will stand up well to life in the mountains… Deals with all the basic information you need from grading and routes to practicalities… It is all well laid out and clearly explained.’
