This course has now finished – we will be updating this page in due course for winter 2014

The Scottish Highlands in winter invariably cast a mesmerising spell on those who visit – contrast of colours, deep corries filled with snow and pristine views –  but can be wild at times, in terms of weather and conditions. If you have wanted to experience the magic of winter in Scotland, but also felt the need for peace of mind with some expert instruction and guidance, our skills course will set you up well for your future adventures in the wilds.

We not only pay attention to your needs on the hill, with tuition from a team of instructors of many years’ winter experience, but also to those off the hill. Based out of a comfortable traditional Scottish house, we know that good food, good surroundings and a good atmosphere are key to your enjoyment during the week. We count it a privilege to go on an adventure with you, and hope that this will be the foundation for many more in the future with us or your friends or family.

The course covers all the basic, but fundamental, elements for travelling safely in winter conditions: how to use your tools well, taking precautions against avalanches and getting used to operating in adverse conditions.

Please note, the information in the brochure is from last year, but feel free to have a browse.
