The Anti-Atlas has become a major multi-pitch trad destination over the years due to the huge amount of amazing rock, good guidebooks becoming available (see my post here for more on this), great weather and affordable flights!

solid_blue_logoBecause of the technical nature of this trip, we only use instructors who hold the highest outdoor pursuits awards: in this case the Mountaineering Instructor Award. The MIA is a professional award and holders are assessed to high standards in the skills required for instructing mountaineering, including all aspects of summer rock climbing, the coaching of lead climbing and scrambling. We do not compromise on your safety.

We offer two standard trips in Anti-Atlas / Tafraout:

Introduction to Multi-Pitch Climbing

This trip aims to pass on the core skills and techniques needed to enter into the adventurous world of multi-pitch climbing. Your guide will look to make you a more efficient and confident climber, which will pay dividends in the long run of your climbing career! So if you have a good base of experience in single-pitch trad climbing and want input and coaching from a fully qualified mountaineering instructor to help you take the next step, then this trip is for you!

Anti Atlas Multi-Pitch Trad Adventure

Joe Brown, Chris Bonnington and other trad masters have all spent time in the Anti-Atlas and with good reason! The area’s growing popularity has produced some classic routes that have a number of qualities to them: the lines are logical, there is good protection where it’s needed, and they offer fantastic adventurous climbing. If this gets your imagination and climbing stoke going, then get in touch!

The focus of this trip is on guiding you up the classic routes with the guide typically leading all the pitches, but we are flexible and if you are confident and want to swap leads then let your guide know!

For both of the above trips the price includes:

  • Guiding and instruction
  • Assistance from your guide (who speaks Moroccan Arabic or French) in sorting out the logistics of the trip such as buying supplies and booking accommodation.
  • Use of The Mountain People’s helmets, ropes and protection for the duration of the trip.

Your guide will meet you either in Marrakech or Agadir. You would be responsible for hiring a car for the trip and paying for the fuel for the duration of the trip. The guide would be happy to share the driving.
